Telegraph | Money | Breaking views: Linde may pay too much for its independence: "Buying BOC might get Reitzle out of his strategic box. But the deal isn't obviously attractive. At £15 a share, Linde is paying a premium of £1.5bn over BOC's undisturbed share price. Yet analysts believe the synergies are only worth about £200m a year. Taxed and capitalised, those are worth only £1.4bn."
